FAQs
Are these live timetables?
No. These tools do not pull live schedules. They use typical planning assumptions (airport friction, transfers, queues, and crowd effects) so you can stress-test an itinerary before you book.
For exact train/flight times, check the operator, then use these tools to add realistic buffers.
How early should I arrive?
Use the Match-Day Buffer Tool and follow the “Arrive at stadium by” time it gives you. That result already includes entry/security, last-mile friction, and contingency.
If this match is the priority (or you hate stress), choose Play it safe and treat the output as your minimum.
Does luggage change the plan?
Yes, luggage increases friction.
- Checked bags add baggage claim time and make tight connections riskier.
- Bags at stadiums often trigger extra screening or bag checks, increasing entry time.
If you’re carrying a bag, select the bag option in the tool and avoid tight buffers, especially near kickoff.
How early should I arrive?
Rule of thumb: plan to be at the stadium 60–90 minutes before kickoff.
- Add time for security + bag checks.
- Add time for crowds (big matches = longer queues).
- If you’re using rideshare, avoid arriving close to kickoff.
Why does flying take longer than expected?
Because the flight is only one piece of the journey. Most time comes from:
- City → airport transfer
- Airport buffer (check-in / security / boarding)
- Deplane + exit (and baggage claim if checked)
- Airport → city transfer
The Airport Transfer Penalty Tool shows your true door-to-door total.
Does luggage change the plan?
Yes — luggage adds friction on match days:
- Stadiums may have bag checks or restrictions.
- Airports add baggage drop and baggage claim time.
- Transfers are slower when you’re moving with a bag.
If the match matters, treat “checked bag + tight timing” as high risk.
