This vault is designed for researchers, travel planners, and ESG analysts who want to understand where the certification data comes from, how it is verified, and which venues hold Green Key across Spain and Portugal.

Each venue verified via national operator records and individual sustainability pages.
Datasets reviewed each June against the latest ADEAC and ABAAE certified sites lists.

Data Quality
How venues are verified before inclusion
National operator lists first
Each dataset begins with the official certified sites list published by ADEAC (Spain) or ABAAE (Portugal), cross-referenced against the Green Key Global certified sites map.
Venue-level verification
Each venue's own sustainability pages, annual reports, and certification documentation are checked to confirm active certification status, year, and key sustainability features.
Annual review each June
Green Key certificates are annual — a venue present in one edition may not renew. Venues are removed or flagged if certification lapses or cannot be confirmed.
No false certification claims
Venues holding only EarthCheck, Biosphere, ISO 14001, or LEED without Green Key are not included unless dual certification with Green Key is explicitly verified.
